To help students planning for field study in the upcoming quarter, we email all sites with email contacts to find out which sites have not filled their opportunities for the quarter about 3 weeks before the course enrollment form deadline. Please note this list is NOT comprehensive. Please refer to the Field Study Catalog for detailed information. What is included here are field study sites that we have emailed and that have responded to our email letting us know they have space for applicants. Sites without email addresses were not contacted. Announcing 2012-2013 Advanced Field Study
We are excited to announce the inaugural Advanced Field Study (AFS) course for 2012-2013. This course, led by Assistant Professor Doug Houston, will provide a small number of students an in-depth, three-quarter field study experience focused on civic and community engagement. Students will work together with a local community, government, or business organization on a research project that addresses social problems and helps build and sustain community cohesion and well-being. Students will draw upon academic training, local insights of people living and working in the community, personal reflections, and in-class discussions to guide these problem-solving efforts and other civic education experiences. STUDENT APPLICATION DEADLINE - EXTENDED to MAY 18, 2012. Click here for more information and the application.
