Why you love UCI: I love UCI because the campus allows one to get involved in many different things. It gives you unique opportunities like working closely with faculty as well as interacting with nature (Aldrich Park). The people I have met here are awesome!!!
What you recommend doing the most: Get involved. You can never meet enough people plus everyone is always friendly. Remember you design your experience here at UCI so go all out. It’s your time to explore different cultures, ideas, traditions, and perspectives. Take advantage of all the different programs, resources, professors, and organizations available here.

Why you love UCI: I love UCI because of the great, inspirational people you meet through everyday random encounters.
What you recommend doing the most: Be true to yourself in all that you do. Find something you’re even slightly interested and just go for it. I also recommend spending some time just sitting somewhere on campus watching people interact. It’s amazing what you can learn by just stopping and looking around.

Why you love UCI: For one, the environment is amazing. The campus is clean and beautiful. Also, the people are so friendly and awesome. Just the general vibe of UCI makes this university a great place to be at.
What you recommend doing the most: Make the most of your college experience! Don’t just do the bare minimum by going to class – explore your interests. Travel the world and gain overseas experience! Join clubs that share the same interests as you. Take part in research and get involved with your major. You’re paying so much for the entire college experience anyway, so why not take advantage of everything available to you?
Name: Thanh Truong

Year: 3rd
Extracurricular activities: Student Health Outreach, Hoag Hospital Clinical Care Extender Program, and SAGE Scholars
Why you love UCI: We have exceptional mentors and programs that are there to help you discover and chase your dreams. I’ve been so lucky to run into exceptional people who, even if they cannot provide me with the answer I need, will continue to encourage me and provide me with the best references they have.
What you recommend doing the most: Your years here will fly by in a flash so choose NOW to be excited about your life and what the world has to offer. Try out new clubs, seek help from our great resources, and search for ways to grow! Amazing things wait for you at UCI as well as in life but you must take the initiative to seek it out. My favorite saying is, “Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.” so I strongly encourage you to take some chances during your years here. Invest in YOU by learning new perspectives and skills, involving yourself in causes that tug at your heart strings, and creating lasting bonds with others.
