Graduate Application Information

The School of Social Ecology accepts applications for graduate school annually for Fall Quarter only. In submitting your application, be sure to specify clearly the degree program for which you wish to be considered for admission. If a student is admitted to a degree program within the School of Social Ecology, transferring to a different degree program requires special procedures and cannot always be guaranteed.  You can find additional tips for applying to UCI here

 

GRADUATE PROGRAMS

Application deadlines for Fall 2018 admission:

  • Master of Advanced Study (MAS) in Criminology, Law, & Society

 

  • Master of Legal and Forensic Psychology (MLFP)

 

  • Master of Public Policy (MPP)
    • Application Deadline: January, 10 2018. Application review for MURP Fall 2018 enrollment will begin after the initial deadline of January 15, 2018. After this date, the admissions committee will consider applications on a rolling basis until March 1, 2018.

  • Master of Urban Regional Planning (MURP)
    • Application Deadline: January 15, 2018. Application review for MURP Fall 2018 enrollment will begin after the initial deadline of January 15, 2018. After this date, the admissions committee will consider applications on a rolling basis until May 15, 2018.

APPLICATION MATERIALS

  • Official transcripts from all instititions attended after high school. In order for transcripts to be official, they must be sent directly from the institution.
  • Three letters of recommendation.
  • A complete online application, which includes a Statement of Purpose.
  • Application fee payment of $105.00 for domestic applicants, $125.00 for international applicants. Please visit this page for information regarding Fee Waviers.
  • Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores are required (except for MAS and MLFP programs); the Educational Testing Service GRE code for UCI is: 4859. Please visit the Graduate Division website for more information.
  • Applicants whose primary language is not English are required to demonstrate proficiency in English for admission consideration. A student may receive a waiver to the requirement for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Internet-based Test (iBT) or a paper-based test (PBT) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) if they completed all the requirements for their high school diploma, bachelor’s degree, or an advanced degree in a country where the primary and/or dominant language is English and English was the language of instruction of the school where the requirements were completed.
