The Office of Student Services offers a year-long internship program for 2-3 undergraduate students each year. We offer two types of internship opportunities:
Special Programs Intern
This program offers one undergraduate student a three quarter-long experience coordinating all aspects of the Striving for Success program. The intern learns about marketing for the program, event planning, the development and facilitation of workshops to support students on academic probation, and program evaluation. The intern works closely with Student Services staff for 10 hours a week while earning 4 units of Social Ecology 198 each quarter.

Field Study Interns
This program provides two undergraduates the opportunity to assist the Director of the Field Study Program. Areas of responsibility may include one or more of the following depedning on program needs and student interests: event coordination, program evaluation, marketing and public relations, authoring newsletter articles, developing or enhancing program materials, and developing and/or presenting workshops and presentations. Students will have the opportunity to shadow the field study director on site visits and other campus and community meetings.Past projects have included developing and implementing field study focus groups and conceiving and implementing field study community partner spotlights. The interns work up to 10 hours a week while earning 2-4 units of Social Ecology 198 each quarter.

Students in the School of Social Ecology are informed about this opportunity during spring quarter via e-mail. Application materials are also made available on the Office of Student Services website. After a preliminary selection process, interviews are conducted in mid- to late-spring quarter. Two to three finalists are selected by 6th of 7th week of spring quarter. The internships start the following fall and conclude Week 10 of spring quarter.
