In partnership with the UCI School of Law, there are 2 scholarship opportunities for Social Ecology undergraduate students interested in pursuing a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree at UCI School of Law:

3+3 Social Ecology Law Program

Social Ecology Law Scholarship

 

The 3+3 Social Ecology Law Program enables high-achieving students to complete an undergraduate degree and J.D. degree within six years, rather than the usual seven, to significantly reduce the cost of education. Social Ecology students and alumni admitted to the 3+3 Social Ecology Law Program will receive both of the following:

 

  • $90,000 tuition scholarship ($30,000/year) for both residents and nonresidents to offset tuition and fees of attending UCI Law

  • Mentorship from a UCI Law upper-division student or alumni

 

The Social Ecology Law Scholarship provides a guaranteed minimum scholarship for students who are graduating, or who have graduated, from the School of Social Ecology, and are later admitted into the J.D. program of UCI Law. Social Ecology students and alumni admitted to the Social Ecology Law Scholarship will receive the following:

 

  • $90,000 tuition scholarship ($30,000/year) for both residents and nonresidents to offset tuition and fees of attending UCI Law

 

 

Scholarship Eligibility

 

To be eligible for the 3+3 Program or the Law Scholarship, Social Ecology students must meet all requirements below:

 

UC GPA

  • Be on track to obtain a minimum UC GPA at least equal to the median for the UCI Law entering J.D. class of the prior year

  • Anticipated Fall 2024 median – 3.81 UC GPA

LSAT score

  • Obtain an LSAT score at least equal to the median for the UCI Law entering J.D. class of the prior year

  • Anticipated Fall 2024 median – 167 LSAT

Social Ecology

Be on track to complete or have completed a degree in the School of Social Ecology:

  • B.A. in Criminology, Law & Society

  • B.A. in Psychological Science

  • B.A. in Urban Studies

  • B.A. in Social Ecology 

Nominated

  • Be nominated by the School of Social Ecology

  • Please complete the Social Ecology + UCI Law Interest Form (found below)

Admitted to UCI Law

  • School of Social Ecology graduates and prospective graduates must fulfill all the criteria for admission into UCI Law’s J.D. program and follow the law school’s usual admission procedures

  • Applications to UCI Law may be submitted as early as September of the year preceding the year in which the prospective student wishes to enroll in UCI Law

  • Prospective students are encouraged to apply early, as seats are filled as the season progresses. Binding Early Decision Applications are due no later than November 15 each year

  • You are not required to apply to UCI Law for Binding Early Decision to be eligible for the 3+3 Program of the Law Scholarship
