Readmission Information

This process is for students who have taken a leave of absence or been dismissed from UC Irvine. Review the steps and criteria below, then submit your application when ready.


Process

  1. Review the eligibility criteria below and confirm you meet the requirements.
  2. Submit the Readmission Application by the posted deadline. Applications received after the deadline are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in limited course availability.
  3. If you completed any courses outside of UC Irvine while away, submit official transcripts to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
  4. After your readmission is processed, pay the $70 non-refundable readmission fee.
  5. If you have been away from UC Irvine for over a year, submit a Statement of Legal Residence.
  6. Enroll in courses.

Eligibility Criteria

To readmit into the School of Social Ecology, you must demonstrate the ability to succeed academically by achieving a minimum 2.0 GPA in all three of the following areas:

Overall UCI GPA

Upper Division Major GPA — all upper division courses applied to school and major requirements in DegreeWorks

School GPA — all Social Ecology school and major requirements

You must also be able to meet normal progress requirements and graduate in a timely manner. For students who entered UCI in Fall 2011 or later, a maximum of 216 units is permitted after their 12th quarter of study. (Academic Senate Regulation 386 — Credit Hour Unit Limit)


If Any of Your GPAs Are Below 2.0

We recommend meeting with an academic counselor:
An academic counselor can help you establish a plan to improve your GPA to 2.0. Please call our office to schedule this appointment. 


Transferring from a Different UCI School into Social Ecology

In addition to meeting the criteria above, please complete the following:

Review the change of major requirements for your intended major. Courses needed to meet these criteria may be taken at UCI, or equivalent courses may be taken at a community college.

Important: Courses completed at a community college will not count toward your UCI GPA. To find equivalent community college courses, visit www.assist.org.
